On Saturday, August 15, Skyline Living hosted its third Annual Rideau Heights Community Picnic. This free event took place at Village Tower Apartments at 87-107 Compton Street, Kingston, ON.
The Rideau Heights Community Picnic brought together residents and staff of Skyline Living buildings, neighbours, community organizations, and service providers.
Attendees enjoyed BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs, face painting, a scavenger hunt, a fire truck, sports activities, and wonderful live band The Picket Fences.
“This event is important to the Rideau Heights neighbourhood because it brings people together. It’s easy to get isolated in our own homes and we want to make everyone, whether they live in our building or not, feel like part of the community,” says Donna Van Luven, Property Manager in Kingston.
Ted Hsu, MP for Kingston & the Islands, was in attendance, and chatted with his constituents over hamburgers. “He was very approachable and interested in hearing what we had to say,” said one attendee.
