Skyline Group of Companies is pleased to announce the launch of its inaugural Sustainability Plan.

The plan outlines Skyline’s 2021 goals for social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and corporate governance.

The 2021 plan is a modern makeover of an environmental plan launched by the company in 2011. Both plans share the title “Recognizing Our Responsibility,” with the new 2021 plan expanding to additional areas of sustainability such as community giving and diversity and inclusions.

“Skyline has always ‘Recognized its Responsibility’ to its customers, its staff, and the environment, as a company that provides places to live, work, and do business,” said R. Jason Ashdown, Co-Founder & Chief Sustainability Officer, Skyline Group of Companies.

“In turn, we’ve been recognized through several awards and accolades over the years. However, we’re always focused on doing better, and there is more work to be done in 2021 and beyond.”

Skyline’s recognition in the past 12 months includes the Federation of Rental Housing Providers of Ontario’s (FRPO) Community Service Award for 2020, and the Canadian Federation of Apartment Associations’ (CFAA) Rental Housing Provider of the Year award. It also made the 2020 Growth List and won an award from the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce for its efforts surrounding Skyline Community Hub in Fergus, ON.

“Each of our stakeholders—staff, investors, suppliers, tenants, and community members—has an important part to play in helping us reach our sustainability goals,” said Ashdown.

“No matter where you fit in with Skyline, we hope all of our stakeholders share in our enthusiasm and support us reaching our goals. Ultimately, it is about making each of our communities better.”
