[Guelph, Ontario – June 20, 2024]

On June 20, 2024, Skyline Group of Companies was recognized in two categories at the 2024 Guelph Awards of Excellence hosted by the Guelph Chamber of Commerce. These awards celebrate the achievements of outstanding businesses, organizations, and individuals in the Guelph community.

Fay Yachetti, Director, Sustainability, Skyline Group of Companies, was awarded Young Professional of the Year, which recognizes individuals in the Guelph community who have tackled the challenges of entrepreneurship and/or have demonstrated leadership or professional growth in their field.

Fay played a critical role in launching Skyline’s Sustainability department in 2020 and continues to lead Skyline’s Sustainability team, managing the sustainability strategy for Skyline Group of Companies and facilitating Skyline’s many initiatives for social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and ethical governance.

“While sustainability has long been an integral part of Skyline’s operations and business plans, even before the introduction of a formal Sustainability team, Fay has taken our efforts to new levels,” said R. Jason Ashdown, Co-Founder & Chief Sustainability Officer, Skyline Group of Companies.

“Fay is an exceptional, well-rounded leader whose meaningful impact at Skyline has created a positive ripple effect in Guelph and far beyond.”

Additionally, the Shelldale Partnership, of which Skyline was a part alongside Kindle Communities, the Guelph Community Health Centre, and Stonehenge Therapeutic Communities, was recognized with the Not-Profit of the Year Award. This award celebrates a local not-for-profit that demonstrates thoughtful and innovative leadership. The Shelldale Partnership was recognized for the 10 Shelldale Crescent Permanent Supportive Housing project, which celebrated its grand opening in late June 2024 and is now welcoming residents. 10 Shelldale Crescent provides homes and wrap-around support services to 32 people who were previously experiencing chronic homelessness in the Guelph community.

“We are proud to be recognized alongside our project partners for 10 Shelldale Crescent,” said Ashdown.

“As rental housing providers, we have seen first-hand how housing insecurity can impact a person’s health and well-being. However, homelessness and housing insecurity is not a problem that can be solved by one person or company alone. 10 Shelldale Crescent is a prime example of a rental housing provider, non-profit organizations, and all levels of government can work together to find solutions.”

Skyline congratulates all 2024 Guelph Chamber Awards winners and nominees.
