Skyline wins Sustainability award from Guelph Chamber

[Guelph, Ontario – June 15, 2023]

On June 15, 2023, Skyline Group of Companies was awarded the 2023 Sustainability award at the 196th annual Guelph Awards of Excellence hosted by the Guelph Chamber of Commerce.

This award recognizes a business or organization in the city of Guelph that has showcased an outstanding commitment to sustainability through operations, development, or processes.

Skyline was recognized for both its social and environmental sustainability efforts in 2022, including:

• Becoming one of Canada’s largest biogas providers in 2022 with its Elmira, Ontario and Lethbridge, Alberta biogas facilities
• Investing $11+ million in energy and water efficiency measures at its properties
• Its plans to install 900+ EV chargers at its residential properties by March 2024
• Diverting an anticipated 241,624 kg of compost from landfill annually through organic waste streams
• Raising $379,000+ across four annual charitable fundraising campaigns
• Saving 720 tenancies (since 2020) through Skyline Living’s R.I.S.E. program and helping 238 refugee families through Skyline Living’s Refugee Assistance Program

This is Skyline’s second year in a row winning a sustainability-related award from the Guelph Chamber.

Last year, it won the Community Builder award for its contribution to the 32-unit Permanent Supportive Housing development at 10 Shelldale Crescent in Guelph.
